| 1194335 | 2011-04-13 23:25:00 | yeah its crazy - ive seen on multiple occasions people apply for WINZ grants for their cars - one guy actually got $3000 for his "wheel repair and tyres" claim so instead of getting the factory wheel fixed or replaced (would have cost no more than $100 for a secondhand factory alloy) he goes out and gets some super fly chrome 18" wheels and new rubber put on instead the car was incorrectly lowered too so the wheels sat on bad camber and would chew the insides of the tyres out withing 20,000km - never mind - just ask for another grant of $1500 to replace them! the whole thing annoys me greatly D: |

I now understand why some people are trying to avoid paying taxes. What are those 'Managers' in the Winz office doing? Don't they have a guideline somewhere to follow? Or, our whole welfare system is in a mess? |

| 1194338 | 2011-04-14 00:10:00 | My dad had his mobility scooter fixed with a Winz payment. However, it's not free, he had to borrow it and he pays them back. Pensioners. This lady may have been a pensioner. And just because it's a mercedes doesn't mean it was new, newish or even in good nick. I knew someone who had a Merc, utter heap of crap it was too, it finally died beyond economical repair and went to the wreckers. |
