1222451 2011-08-11 04:27:00 I want to clean out the original OS from a computer but don't have the original disc. What do I do? Easy step by step instructions please. I do have another OS disc I want to install but need to know all the other 'stuff' is gone! Most programmes and apps have been uninstalled already.
Thanks. Have searched here but couldn't find exactly what I wanted.

1222452 2011-08-11 04:44:00 If you have another O/S then boot off that disk, tell it to delete all partitions (making sure you retrieved anything you want to keep first before you start), then tell it to make new partitions, or one partition, whatever - then install. pctek (84)
1222453 2011-08-11 04:58:00 Just make sure you have all the drivers that you need handy and the licence key and that it matches the disc you have gary67 (56)

1222458 2011-08-12 09:05:00 Thanks for help everyone. The computer has gone to a new home to be set upon and scavenged for useful parts. The owner was made an offer she could not refuse. Pity - I was looking forward to having a go at fixing it myself. katharinem (3459)
