1222106 2011-08-09 21:38:00 Hey guys

I'm doing a little research and wondered if you guys would be keen to help out? I'm looking at different speed tests per town/ISP in New Zealand after being at the Crown Fibre talk in Auckland yesterday.

You can join my speedwave at www.speedtest.net

Would really apreciate any assistance. If you don't have an account and you do it, would you mind posting on here the ID speedtest gives you so I can put your name down as helping. :)

Cheers guys!

1222108 2011-08-10 00:00:00 Keep in mind that a lot of people are still being cabinetized, but then again it's not difficult to tell who has been based on national speed tests, as nationally people are less likely to be over-subscribed or throttled back so much.

Winner with 6 badges so far!! :D

1222109 2011-08-10 00:09:00 Oh you are just showing off CS.

How do you have a 0 ping?

I call either hack or cheating by being at an ISP

1222113 2011-08-10 02:37:00 Put a couple of Tests up and I am inland from Tauranga (Slingshit)

With Speedtest it wants to use Palmerston North as the preferred server which I am no where near, noticed this occurring the last month, usually worldxchange Auckland

Even though I change to Auckland ,the result shows Palmeston North

OH yes the speed of late has been worse than crap

Could anyone shed some light on it?

1222114 2011-08-10 02:54:00 are you manually selecting the server or clicking the recommended button? nedkelly (9059)
1222115 2011-08-10 02:57:00 @nedkelly, They've been great! Awesome price, lots of bandwidth. We've gone for a 100m/bit fibre connection, with 10M CIR international and PIR 100M national. Couldn't believe the price vs what we *were* paying :D

@Lawrence, Slingshot are relatively oversubscribed, and don't seem to be in the mood to purchase additional bandwidth.
