| 1223374 | 2011-08-15 05:59:00 | Hope someone can help, I updated the driver on my laptop to the latest from Nvidia 280.26, but now when I connect my 22" display to it, it only displays 16:9 resolutions? If I connect the dispaly through the DVI connector it displays the correct resolution, but I usually have the DVI plugged into my desktop, so would love to have the VGA displaying correctly. It was working fine before the upgrade. I have tried: - restarting the laptop - unplugging monitor from the wall - reinstalling the driver through device manager. - using the nvidia control panel to set a custom resolution of the correct resolution, but that doesn't work either. Anyone else got any ideas other than rolling back the driver? |

| 1223376 | 2011-08-15 22:41:00 | That's odd, does the monitor show up with the model name or a generic name like "LCD monitor" ? It's possible windows isn't correctly detecting the monitor on the VGA connector and defaulting to standard resolutions. You could try installing a driver for your monitor, usually not necessary but it can sometimes help. | dugimodo (138) | ||
| 1223377 | 2011-08-15 23:09:00 | Thats a good point, will have a look tonight to see what it displays when I plug the DVI and VGA in and compare. In preparation I went to the asus website for my monitor to see if there is a monitor driver, but theres no driver there: www.asus.co.nz only manuals? |
