1196853 2011-04-25 01:44:00 Being a regular visitor to Whangamata I am getting more and more dissalusioned with Vodafone's attitude to their crappy reception at holiday times at this popular spot.
At Christmas/ New Year, Beach Hop Weekend and now over Easter Friday to Monday one can only get occassional 3G broadband reception using a Vodem and you are lucky to be able to use your phone over here. They know in advance that this is going to happen so why dont they put in some temporary resource to increase the available bandwidth during these times?
I have called their service centre each time (when I can get thru) and complained bitterly and the standard answer is that the service is overloaded. People like me need these links for business purposes not to play like most of the young muppetts will be doing.
We pay for our Vodaphone service both phone and 3G broadband whether it is used or not so I suppose Vodafone doesnt care as they have got our money!!
They need to fast realise that there are players in the field who cater better for these services over here and I for one will be cancelling my Vodafone contract when I get back home and talking to Telecom or 2 degrees (Never thought I would have to turn back to Telecom!)
Any one else had recent experience with this at Whanga?

1196854 2011-04-25 02:25:00 2degress run off the voda towers, if voda is overloaded then 2degrees will not fare too well unless they have reserved bandwidth.

Please note that I may not be entirely correct in saying this so correct me if I am

1196855 2011-04-25 03:17:00 2 degrees have their own network in main population centres, but a lot of the smaller areas yes they just use Vodafone's network - so chances are you'll be no better off with them than Vodafone. inphinity (7274)

That'll certainly be right for Whanga. I was having trouble sendin my wife txts via 2 degs and they were delayed for hours before they arrived because Voda was having trouble with it's next work and my traffic was going thru' them.
