From what I have read they tend to think the use of insecticides and other sprays is to the blame and not global warming. The temperature within a hive is quite critical but not so for the gathering of nectar. |

The global warming influence on bees is indirect and subtle. Flowers are blooming earlier because its warmer, but the hibernating bees are missing that and the resulting honey is becoming lighter, and less nutritious. The plants (including trees) are also losing out from lack of pollination. Apparently the bumblebee is now suspected to be extinct in North America. |
