| 1196321 | 2011-04-22 14:05:00 | Myself I don't think Global Warming or climate change has ever been proved to be effected to much extent by Humanity. We haven't proven it isn't either, people just keep arguing over what are essentially theories. Carbon Dioxide is a naturally occurring gas and I think we do more damage by clearing the forests that would naturally deal ith it than by emitting it in the first place. But you know what, it doesn't matter. We absolutley should stop spewing crap into the atmosphere and polluting everything in sight wether it has any effect on the climate or not. A cleaner earth is a good thing isn't it? We seem to be hell bent on expanding into every corner of the planet and using every resource in existence to fuel our ever expanding population. If climate change is the excuse the greenies need to get the issue heard then ok. I think they are wrong in their reasons, but mostly right in what they want us to do about it. You could simplify a lot of the worlds problems to a simple point, an overly large ever growing population competing for an ever dwindling amount of natural resources. It's Easter and I have time on my hands to Rant :) most of the time I happily go about my business secure in the thought I'll be long dead before this really becomes a problem. Have a safe easter, be careful on the road, and recycle that rubbish. |

| 1196322 | 2011-04-22 21:29:00 | Grow up 12v:groan: Quite accurate description of the new moon open mind philosophy I'd have thought. I think we can be certain from his weather predictions that Ken Moon doesn't know much about climate or global warming, but amusingly he isn't in the green camp where you'd expect him to be with his brand of fuzzy thinking. Now more than a few years since I studied boundary layer climates but I see the text book (www.amazon.com) we used at Uni some thirty years ago by T.R. Oke is still available on Amazon. Still more sense in there than you'll find in any Ken Ring books. Anyways from my memory of what was known at least thirty years ago, we know that volcanoes have a bigger impact on the climate in the short term than man-made emissions. We also know that man is impacting on the climate, this isn't really in dispute by anyone. So the argument is about the size of the impact and personally I think some people over-estimate the impact for their own purposes, but I don't think at the end of the day you can make a sensible argument that man made emissions don't have some impact. However neither does the Green Movement need to be believed on every alarmist theory they have. So now I can expect to be shot by both sides, and this thread may yet go on for some time. So fire away. Oh and stop being a big girl's blouse Mikebartnz. |

I do not belive all the global warming panic headlines either but also think that avoiding pollution is a good idea. |

| 1196327 | 2011-04-22 22:47:00 | Dunno about brainwashing, so far there has only been a mild splash on a lack of brains. Maybe that is just to remind us what easter is supposed to be about. Lurking has offered us the fix - plant big trees and only cut down (then up) little ones. With that plus the cycleways we are all assured of a rosy future with monotonously bland weather. ;) Ha, the sun is shining momentarily - who do we give the credits for that? |

| 1196328 | 2011-04-22 23:29:00 | Wrong Cic. That article is simply wrong. Here is a comprehensive answer: www.factcheck.org "Carbon dioxide isnt a major output of volcanic eruptions. In the case of Icelands Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which began erupting in March 2010 and entered an explosive phase in April 2010, one study found that less than 15 percent of the gas given off in the pre-explosive phase was CO2 the majority was water vapor. For some other volcanoes, the proportion of CO2 is even lower." Obviously something that came from a Government employee? So far Al Gore has made over $30 million US out of preaching Global Warming and the Head of the UN section of Global Warming has made nearly $100 million US. Sadly, the world is full of organisations like the NZ Dept of Conservation. |

In Post #23 you hope the thread gets closed. Here you are later, contributing, if you can call it that, to this very thread. Perhaps lowering your intake of Tequila may help. Science says too much salt is bad for you. |
