| 1196984 | 2011-04-25 09:00:00 | Probably a good price. WD have been very good support wise for me so i'd go there again. USB3... nice for the future. 1TB, handy space |

| 1196987 | 2011-04-25 09:59:00 | Or a usb3 pci-e card bit.ly Yep. Just bought two Seagate 1 Terabyte drives but connect by SATA rather than USB. They are faster than the two 200 Gig Seagate drives I replaced probably due to cache I guess. 32 Megs rather than 8 Meg cache. |

| 1196990 | 2011-04-25 14:07:00 | Don't need an excuse, but for some reason I've been hemorrhaging money today. Was looking like I was gonna come in under budget this week, then bam, $350 managed to sprout legs and run. | ubergeek85 (131) | ||
| 1196991 | 2011-04-25 20:50:00 | Nothing wrong with that price, it's still "decent" for a 1.5TB. I bought a 2TB SATA for $135 and then just threw it in a $40 USB caddy. If you're *just* using it to archive data though, as most people are, then performance comes secondary to cost (Or more storage), so I've not personally seen much need yet for USB3. It'll be the one to watch, but if I was in your shoes plod, I'd stick with a regular USB2.0 drive for now and either save the dosh or get more storage :) EDIT: Unless you're editing RAW HD video, then *maybe* USB2.0 won't hold up ... ;) |
