My 2016 Royal Enfield Classic Bullet Desert Storm 500 has a problem in that in almost exactly the same spot from home up a hill about 1km from home the bike starts misfiring backfiring wont take any throttle. Now it can pull through it then its right as rain. Did it last year as well.
Today did a few things new spark plug, air filter, reset the ECU, new full tank of petrol. Did it again it but cleared itself after 4km after almost coming a stop. Then no problems gave it death on 50 km ride around the windy bits of Old North rd Helensville got it up to 130 kph, absolutely running beautifully. I know tomorrow morning it will do it on the same at the same place on the hill. When I have taken the plug out when it is playing up its sooty. It would seem to me the only thing that changes in that distance would be oil temperature but I dont think the ECU has an oil temperature sensor.
I have googled the problem to death but info on the EFI and electronic ignition is pretty thin on the ground.

1465176 2019-12-02 00:00:00 Some Triumph Thunderbirds did this stunt, the fuel tap was a bit marginal for flow and if giving it a bit of curry when cold it gradually starved for fuel. The solution was to ignore having a fuel reserve and just turn both fuel taps on. (Putting in virtually any other brand of fuel tap also solved the problem, but there were a lot of things that needed your $$ to upgrade that had priority.) R2x1 (4628)
1465177 2019-12-02 01:19:00 Bad crank seal? Causing temp fuel starvation/internal ac leak (causing misfiring) when climbing or under load. Though oil leaks might be present or perhaps drawn into the engine. But then smoke might be ejected - but better visible from someone behind/following the bike... kahawai chaser (3545)
1465178 2019-12-02 04:16:00 Does the problem occur when the fuel tank is full, as opposed to say quarter full or less?

Seen this problem when there was a very fine filter attached to the fuel tap.

If there is one, back blow it with compressed air and see what happens.
