But it's not Black Friday.:horrified I was taught that Black Friday was when Friday fell on the 13th of the month. But it's not the 13th, let alone Friday 13th. Apparently the Yanks have Black Friday (for some unknown reason) after thanksgiving. But so what? Just because the Yanks have Black Friday. Why should we have Black Friday? Do you really want to be like the Yanks? Particularly with their gun culture.:horrified So why can't we have a Kiwi Sale? |

| 1465134 | 2019-11-28 07:47:00 | Apparently the Yanks have Black Friday (for some unknown reason) after thanksgiving. i'm told black friday sales is all to do with USA tax laws. afaik its basically the end of "tax season" and any money they get on those items is tax free, or the stock is written off to tax, something like that. hence they can do crazy prices and get rid of stock without having it cost them much. in NZ its just yet another marketing fad. |

Sales here stat in some places a week before and run for god knows how long.
