| 1460831 | 2019-05-20 01:27:00 | Can anyone tell me if its possible to disable any unwanted detail from cluttering Google Maps? E.g. restaurants, schools, petrol stations, car yards etc ... in short to display only what I want - the basic street maps - and the locations I have saved? I can't see any way to disable the unwanted display, but it's more than likely if there is, I'm looking in the wrong places. Anybody please? :) |

I have made my own custom Google Map Mashups for my Auckland Hotel and Harbour cruise Blogs, from tutorials, e.g at Google Developer's com (cloud.google.com) using their java script API and their "key". Tutorial here (www.webucator.com) to create a simple Google Map. But...could be bit involved. It took me quite some time. | 1460838 | 2019-05-25 07:54:00 | If it's just to browse on your PC (rather than coding on y our own webpage), have a look at some of the styles here: snazzymaps.com Using the example on this page, I just scrolled the map to NZ, and all that shows is suburbs and street names. No businesses, etc. There's lots of other sample styles you could try too by browsing the style section. |

Bing has far less detail and clutter and gave me the result I needed to work with. Thank you for your help anyway :) |
