1465476 2019-12-09 20:39:00 Are they actually all separate units or joined together internally?

Its a micro tower sort of thing .

From my google search, seems they are separate units but using non standard connectors between the units , ie units connect with a ribbon cable or something

The AMP has no RCA inputs. There might be RCA inputs on one of the other sub-units (Aux in), but we would need a few pics to see what they have

1465479 2019-12-10 22:18:00 You should be able to use the Aux Input RCA sockets . 2nd unit from bottom

Thats a should be, but who knows with this sort of unit .

If you have a DVD player , use that a test. Plug into Aux, & play a CD & see if that works
You'll need RCA cables . Just buy a $10 cheapy cable

1465480 2019-12-11 01:15:00 The thing is, that when we are at home, we would still like to use our Wharfedale speakers. So, we need a unit so that we can do so. Additionally, assuming we join Spotify, then it would be good to play the tunes on that through the speakers. Has anyone any ideas on this please?

Compressed streaming audio from Spotify is a waste of those speakers...

many people wont notice the difference between compressed/uncompressed , or wont care.
Wharfedale did make some awefull budget speakers though (and some good speakers). Ive had both . :-)
