1464853 2019-11-13 00:35:00 A few years ago I turned a bedroom into a bathroom, and the old bathroom into a laundry. When we ripped the old Shower and toilet out it turns out there had been a water leak somewhere and a large section of the floor was rotten.
That caused some head scratching and on the fly redesign work. Now part of the floor is a double layer of marine ply to match the thickness of the triboard floor.

My builder was only actually an apprentice who did handyman work for extra cash and was studying project management wanting to go into business for himself.
He was great, and I still really like the bathroom I ended up with. It was also the cheapest option after getting several quotes.

1464855 2019-11-13 06:40:00 Just done a bathroom reno for work, ripped the shower out and never seen so much water under a shower tray. The chipboard flooring was like day old left to soak weetbix, you could just scoop it up and wring it out. Did the final parts today sealing the skirtings to the vinyl and refitting toilet roll holder, towel rail etc.

Also just finished a deck last Thursday and the owner upped and had a heart attack Saturday and passed away, was meant to be back there this week building seats and planters but boss has pulled the pin until we hear from the wife that she wants us back. As an aside our Search & Rescue group were called in to do the body recovery for this chap, I was away in Christchurch so didn't get called upon. It never rains unless it pours it seems.

Sorry no have my hands full here, new house (ours just finished), our deck still under construction, acres of grass to mow, at least 1 acre rest is going for hay soon. Then work on top with the usual stupid rush to Christmas.

Builder came again this morning, couldn't quite do it yesterday...but I forgive him now.
He's still to remove all the rubbish....

She used to have this enormous mirror 1m x 1m on wall, not allowed so I bought her that free standing theing, can be tucked away and pulled out when she wants to cut her hair (which she does herself).

1464861 2019-11-16 04:22:00 Looks good... change that 2 beers to a glass or two of bubbly!

We are waiting to have ours done since June. Retired builder says he has been flat out but knew we weren't in a rush. Hope to have it done by Christmas:)

What retired builder? Trev was the name of ours, he says he is semi-retired.

Husband was semi-retired too, but we thought that meant he didn't do certain (heavier) jobs at all, not sit on his *** drinking beer during jobs, like TRev did.
And leaving early all the time.

Plumber said Trev is "well-known" in Napier, really? I wonder if he meant infamous.
