2011-08-21 02:30:00 | I have an SD card that, despite all attempts, will not format and therefore cannot be used. Is there a way, other than the usual way, that I can format the card and make it useful once more? | Roscoe (6288) | |
2011-08-21 02:45:00 | Its not an SDHC card is it?? And the card reader doesn't support SDHC? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-08-21 03:04:00 | Can it be formatted by the device its going to be used in, ie camera, mp3 player, phone? | Renegade (16270) | |
2011-08-21 03:55:00 | is the micro card missing? - if it has one :) otherwise try a different card reader, or try to format it in the device that is going to be using it, as mentioned above

2011-08-21 06:42:00 | What brand? I picked up a 4GB Apacer from a "bargain" bin at a well known computer chain and wasn't able to format it. | PPp (9511) | |
2011-08-21 09:21:00 | It is an SDHC and the card reader, the camera, does support SDHC as it already has an SDHC card which functions well. When I put the SDHC non formatted card in the camera it says, "Memory card error." I can go to format in the camera but it will not format the card. I do not know if the micro card is missing as I don't know what that is. The brand is DSE 4GB SDHC class 6. I suppose it does not really matter if I can't format the card - they're cheap enough - but I was wondering why it does not work and what can be done, if anything, to make it work.

2011-08-21 21:53:00 | If it's new DSE are fairly good about returns, if not maybe scandisk can shed some light? | dugimodo (138) | |
2011-08-21 23:50:00 | Sounds like its faulty. Take it back to DSE if you can - get a refund and buy a better quality card. I use Transcend cards and havent had an issue. They're not the quickest though. Sandisk are expensive, but (apparently) worth it.
