1197584 2011-04-27 03:51:00 I contacted Trademe about an auction with items stating Genuine, but 3 months warranty rather than the manufacturers 2 years . This is what they said .

Thanks for contacting us .

The seller is obligated to honour the terms set out in the auction which may not included the manufacturers warranty that can sometimes company products .

Thank you for your understanding .

Regards,

1197590 2011-04-27 06:22:00 I read it to mean that the seller can sell it without a warranty, makes sense as some warranties I imagine are not transferable. sam m (517)
1197591 2011-04-27 06:29:00 It also means that Trademe have nothing to do with the enforcement of any warranty issues.

Basically trademe is only a go-between, its a bit like some shops that sell computer parts with a one year warranty, when in fact they have a three year.

1197592 2011-04-27 06:39:00 It means that TradeMe can't send you an Email in Engish so that it's all explained in terms you can understand.

Or it may mean you did not ask the correct question in terms they understand possibly.

How about you post the full Email you sent and also the full reply you received rather than sending bits out of context?

1197593 2011-04-27 07:12:00 I think by law anything on an auction site, even brand new does not have to get any warranty at all and does not go under the CGA. Agent_24 (57)
