| 1197233 | 2011-04-26 05:50:00 | Got a CCNA subnetting assignment here that I started today. First I've got to do a classful subnet using the address 172.24.0.0 /16 for a few thousand hosts. I've been told not to use VLSM the first time round, which is fine. But I've forgotten how to subnet properly. Am I correct in assuming the first subnet would be 172.24.0.1 > 172.24.255.254, and the next would be 172.25.0.1 and so on? Cheers guys :) |

| 1197235 | 2011-04-26 06:51:00 | Well I've got to subnet a network using Rip V1 so can't use VLSM first, that comes as the second part because we were told the exercise isn't possible to complete 100% with a classful setup. Fine enough, VLSM is something I understand. Just makes the numbers confusing sometimes if you don't organise the subnets in order of size first or whatever. |
