1197501 2011-04-29 11:34:00 What none of our politicians seem to get is that their glorious triumphs and grand gestures in the name of "the people of New Zealand" - (now there's a bit of BS) - will not be remembered, and neither will the politicians .

In 25 years, maybe . In 50 years? You'd be pushing it . In 500 years? No one will know or care you even existed . You will be nada in the public psyche . Nothing .

Don, Don, Don - if you'd spend a little more time groping below the neck and being the rutty little animal you are, you'd have a hell of a lot more fun and pleasure in your life than the boring existence and utter emptiness that drives you back to the political limelight again and again .

You think your rich buddies who talked you into this foolishness are any different? Think again Don . They're just as lonely and empty as you are .

There, that's my BS .

Long live Brash, what a pity people don't want to see the truth of our position, and the solution.

This is a democacy, so I will go along with Cicero. It will be interesting to see whether the Brash/Douglas duo could turn the country around as they claim.

I get this feeling that the ACT party will now do quite well having dumped the Sontaran

That I think was one of his better days!.

1197505 2011-04-30 02:52:00 So let's see: you don't like Don Brash because he has political views. Because he has ideas and can argue them in depth. Because - unusually for a politician - he doesn't make personal attacks on other people despite the attacks on him.

Sounds like an ethical principled man.

Ask his ex-wives if they agree.

Ah, you should have said you wanted Jesus.

Or then again, ye without sin, cast the first stone !

1197510 2011-04-30 08:11:00 The only ethic or principle he follows is greed. Or 'devil take the hindmost'. Or 'the rich man in his castle, the poor man at his gate dadedadeda God ordered their estate'.

I think the latter is the only thing he heard from his father's ministry.

Really? Here is a man when as a privileged senior State employee, flew economy class, washed his socks and undies in his hotel room, and drove himself to meetings. That doesn't sound greedy to me.

Here is a Labour perspective:

Former Prime Minister David Lange, who rates Brash’s integrity and open-mindedness extremely highly, suspects he will be fatally compromised by politics’ demand for instant answers. “ Don Brash was not a six o’clock news man, not a monthly poll man, not even a triennial election man, but he was looking ahead. He has never promised anything except the long haul, never talked about gain without sacrifice, has talked about putting money aside, not about the Lotto win."

FWIW I think Don Brash is too old and doesn't have the common touch required by politics. By comparison, Jerry Brownlee isn't much in my opinion, yet he's a Minister and liked. Go figure.
