1198435 2011-05-04 21:11:00 Anyone how has studied history knows that laws are made but those with power, to protect power. Money is power.
Its really that simple. People never have enough money and rich people always want more. It is human nature to be greedy so it is no surprise that the big US Companies with lots of power and money with pressure small countries like NZ to do what they want.
Our politicians are like most politicians, interested in staying in office, and towing the party line. So they will do what the party says. The party need funds.

Use a proxy and that will be the end of the issue.

1198436 2011-05-04 22:17:00 Anyone see that segment about it on Fair Go last night?

See the guy being asked all those questions especially:

"So if someone gets a notice but didn't download anything, how do they prove they are innocent?"
replies... "Uhh.... I Don't know"

"Don't you think what you really need is a better business model?"
replies... "Oh yes for sure, this law will help that happen.." WTF????

Clearly they don't know what the hell they're doing implementing this law that the MAFIAA has told them to implement... without America's involvement I'm sure none of this would even happen
