2011-04-30 22:41:00 | I'd like to see voice recognition for commands but the neighbours might hear me talking to my computer and think that I am talking to myself. | Bobh (5192) | |
2011-04-30 22:59:00 | voice recognition for commands ?? Depending on what that means - you can now. Can someone please give an example. Because any thing you say in voice recognition to open programs is a command ?? You can already open any program, navigate web sites etc all by voice commands.

2011-05-01 03:06:00 | keeping in mind that you may want to "train" your computer to your voice first. If you try to get it to go straight out of the box it doesn't work to well. | icow (15313) | |
2011-05-01 03:21:00 | I have played around with voice recognition in Vista from memory. I found nothing in my copy of Windows 7 for Dummies but there is this (windows.microsoft.com) web address. This could keep me busy for a while.

2011-05-01 05:02:00 | Had another Play with Voice Recognition again in W7, next to no training this time - it works a lot better than Vista did. Only thing I couldn't do was get it to "type" in a Command Prompt Box -- Open it, close it , no problems.

2011-05-02 05:35:00 | I had fun with IBM ViaVoice, reading out things like the back of DVD boxes, it was hilarious to see what it came up with... I saved a few of them, If I can find them I'll post them

2011-05-02 06:07:00 | All voice Recognition software all needs a bit of training. But its a laugh with no training. If you run through the tutorial when you first start W7 Voice that does a reasonably good job of learning how you speak. Not quite the same as in the Start Trek style movies where anyone can talk and the computers understand - It'll get there though - one day.
