I ended up with blurb on the screen which said it was not a registered version and the video quality was awful. I have used Handbrake and that converted 7 of the 9, but the first two it does not load, even though they are in the same folder as the ones it did convert satisfactorily... sigh... | Bryden (4161) | ||

Usually that's due to a bad encode or corrupt file. While some programs / encoders will just 'skip over' the bad parts, others won't go near them. |

| 1225291 | 2011-08-27 11:42:00 | I prefer Xmedia Recode to Handbrake but both have their faults. I don't like the following with Handbrake: - Windows-D (to bring up the desktop) unloads the program! At least for me. - quitting during encode gives an unusable file. Xmedia stops cleanly. - has a bizarre way of setting aspect ratio - GUI doesn't allow keyframes every second to get good FFD and RWD - can't choose what x264 profile Level to set On the plus side, Handbrake seems about 25% faster than Xmedia, the preview facility is good, automatic normalisation of sound is good (I think it does this) But overall I prefer Xmedia |
