jennifer is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.
[jennifer@myth ~]$ My own computer is telling tales on me!! :eek:Thank you - will now run anyway (albeit in non-root mode, so can't get quite as much information) if sudo fails.

1197680 2011-04-27 08:40:00 Ran the command again, and despite reporting me to myself (again) I did get this output:

BTW, the trailing 'dot' at the end of the URL breaks the link.

1197681 2011-04-27 08:47:00 It might also be worth grabbing the output of /etc/issue and /etc/redhat-release for those on RHEL based distros. somebody (208)
1197682 2011-04-27 09:09:00 Newbie user guide tips:

Clear instructions on where they paste this command
How to copy and paste using the mouse in the terminal window (would hate to see them manually copying that command or URL :p)
Let them know the instructions will ask for their password (same as log in password) so there are no surprises.

I think this is a great idea - well done. :)

1197685 2011-04-27 09:12:00 BTW, the trailing 'dot' at the end of the URL breaks the link. The trailing dot has been removed, but I'm sure this will damage our chances of converting Beetle to a Linux geek :p.

It might also be worth grabbing the output of /etc/issue and /etc/redhat-release for those on RHEL based distros.I've added /etc/redhat-release.

Why /etc/issue? It's just the MOTD file.
