1198198 2011-05-02 08:45:00 This forum is no longer the fun place it used to be. There's too many personal agendas and battles underlying these posts.

Keep it light please so we can all enjoy it.. :D

1198199 2011-05-02 09:04:00 I still consider a dictatorship with me as the dictator is the way forward for NZ, no need for politicians, the Queen or even a President, no pandering to anyone based on colour or race.
My word would be law :punk:devil

1198200 2011-05-02 09:06:00 Might as well keep the pot on the boil, just to infuriate those who obviously hate the Monarchy, the Queen and all that it stands for..

Going back to John H he said "Quite untrue Terry; you are not presenting facts once you go beyond saying NZ citizens are subjects of the Queen (whatever that means)."

It's the 'whatever that means' bit, well what it means is that if you are a New Zealand citizen you are indeed a subject of the Queen, and that means you ' Owe allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen in right of New Zealand'. This is what being a subject to a Monarch means.

Again it is quite a simple concept which I thought everyone knew and took for granted?

Now this may be extremely objectionable to some like John H and Metla, but it is so.

Terry, as far as I'm concerned, you're preaching to the converted. But let's all just tone it down.

Having said that, it may be that Gary67 is on the right track?

1198203 2011-05-02 09:40:00 Yo, Gary67, I'd seriously consider it. Altho I'm basically a monarchist, Richard III did throw one of my ancestors into the Tower for three years. So 500 years later, I think I could be persuaded to come on board. WalOne (4202)

To be honest I'm 100 percent indifferent.

Lmfao.

However I have no allegiance to the queen, no matter where you think I "fit" in the system. Her, her family and whatever she stands for is nothing to me.

1198205 2011-05-02 09:43:00 Ha my ancestors were smugglers on Romney Marsh, where all the Romney sheep came from to NZ, they smuggled wool to France and French Brandy back to England. So always trying to stay one step ahead of the King's excise men. The Dr Syn Scarecrow character is based on Marsh smuggling gary67 (56)
1198206 2011-05-02 09:56:00 My ancestors were peasants when they came out from Wiltshire to Nelson in 1841.
Still peasants now but I am a royalist by the default because the alternative with a ceremonial prez doesn't do it for me.
