1226269 2011-08-26 22:37:00 With the HD5450 my Experience Index stood at an embarassing 3 . 9 . After upgrading to the GT440 it increased to 6 . 7 (the graphics subscore) - a huge increase .

But I get an 8% increase in video conversion time:(

I'm guessing the extra 512MB of slow graphics memory is the problem??

CPU = i5-750 @ 2 . 67GHz
RAM = 8GB 1333MHz 9-9-9-24
OS = Win7pro64

I'm beginning to think that integrated graphics is the way to go . The wasted $150 would've gone nicely towards an i5-2500k + Z68

1226270 2011-08-26 23:23:00 Probably because the GT440 is Nvidia isnt it? And it probably supports CUDA (for faster video conversion), whereas (I dont think) the ATI does. No ATI card does Speedy Gonzales (78)
1226271 2011-08-26 23:35:00 he upgraded TO the gt440.

And yet gets slower video conversion.

1226272 2011-08-26 23:37:00 Drivers maybe? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1226273 2011-08-26 23:43:00 The problem is not the drivers - I upgraded to the latest. I also installed Nvidia's SmartDoctor but the option to manually manage memory etc is greyed out. The card is Cuda BBCmicro (15761)
1226274 2011-08-27 04:02:00 To make matters worse a favourite bit of freeware (Streamclip, for joining video clips/ad removal from .mpg captures without re-encoding) wouldn't work with the Nvidia card. Swapped back to the ATI card and it came right.

The software didn't crash with NVidia, it just refused to render on-the-fly

1226275 2011-08-27 04:27:00 I have an HD5450 fanless in this computer with a dual core duo E7500, 4Gb DDR2 and I get a graphics experience of 4.9. But I don't do games or video rendering and I only got the card so I could plug in a second monitor and it was cheap gary67 (56)
