| 1226043 | 2011-08-25 05:31:00 | My wife's computer is getting old, while she gets younger! I need to replace the RAM (no, NOT me!), and wonder if anyone knows enough to tell me what to buy, and where. I don't mind used cards as long as they work! Anything from 512 Mb to 2 Gb would be great. [The CPU is an X65566-DSE SCOOP2200+ 1.5 GHz] TFYH |

It looks like its an old DSE system? See if this will tell you what the ram is (thats in it now) (www.piriform.com) And if it shows the max it can take. And how many slots it has |

| 1226046 | 2011-08-25 05:58:00 | I have a few DDR sticks, some work some don't. At least one 1gb stick works. Although I can't really test them. If you have no luck finding any, give me a buzz. |

| 1226048 | 2011-08-25 23:26:00 | DSE have advised that it will accept the following: XH8302 DSE 1GB DDR PC3200 400MHz Does that help? |

If the Evil Villain lives anywhere near Wellington perhaps we could meet and compare (I was going to say slots, but that sounds rude!) Email me on grahamb()arieldotcodotnz TFYH |

More than 1G of RAM, in XP, wont do alot for you , unless running programs that really need it (eg photoshop, CAD etc etc) Some older PC's can actually running a bit slower with more than 1G (due to poor memory management design) . Added more RAM isnt allays the Elixer of life for XP PC's Id say , being 1.5Ghz, dont expect it to run fast (but will run at usuable speed, just) . Remove Norton, if installed |
