| 1199761 | 2011-05-06 01:01:00 | We knew the 3 or 4 banks in our area would not have them. So we drove out to the CBD (Lambton Quay) last time and got 2 of the 3 currencies required. Then we were told we had to go to this other one in Lambton Quay. We were against time ... The dates are closing soon and today I just couldn't be stuffed. It's like you spend $6 petrol or bus money. Malaysia is not exactly remote, it is a main airport hub. Wellington Airport would be more ... would they have them? Or failing that do it in Auckland Airport or overseas ... :rolleyes: |

| 1199762 | 2011-05-06 02:16:00 | There's a foreign currency desk out in the Hutt as part of ASB in queensgate Mall. Not sure about in the CBD. Not keen on arriving with no money and withdrawing via eft pos at your destination? We did a world trip like that, but only being in one place for a day or so, it wasn't worth us getting money before hand, and we didn't need a lot of cash. But longer holiday in one place, it would make sense to convert some currency. |

| 1199764 | 2011-05-06 05:21:00 | IMO, banks are you best bet if you want the best exchange rate (although watch the fees!) - except when the bank is at the airport, but suburban banks generally only carry half a dozen major currencies (which the ringgit is probably not counted amongst) - but as leonidas5 mentions, the bank can order it in for overnight delivery from their larger offices if it's required. | johcar (6283) | ||

We went to Lambton Quay and they didn't have it :confused: Not suburbs but dead in the middle CBD. Re: the rates, banks might be the best but yeah they do add other fees. But more impt what they advertise outside the bank or on the webpage never comes to fruit even before you factor the other fees, we're just talking about the actual rate. I don't know why they cannot provide real live update of rates on their website and on their billboard by the window :rolleyes: |

| 1199766 | 2011-05-06 07:32:00 | You can order foreign currency via your banks website (ASB does this at least). You just specify what branch you wish to collect it from. Also, you can get cash out from ATMs overseas, but check your bank fees first and only do this for larger amounts. The fees add up too fast if you are withdrawing cash every few days. |

| 1199768 | 2011-05-07 03:55:00 | I went out to the CBD and happened to walk to the address the bank referred us - it was a Travelex outlet :lol: Might just get on arrival. I checked out Travelex online but the currency converter did not include riggitt nor their FX rates table. |
