1199243 2011-05-04 00:19:00 Has anybody on here been to Outward Bound? Is it any good?

Reason I ask is that I am thinking about going there.

1199244 2011-05-04 00:57:00 I've never been but I have friends who have and they all loved it. They said it was hard work but if you have a positive attitude you'll get a lot out of it. Siobhan Keogh (16063)
1199245 2011-05-04 01:57:00 My daughter went, and said it was the best experience of her life. You will be stretched, but that is the whole objective. Go!! Richard (739)
1199246 2011-05-04 02:15:00 Not really much help to you - but perhaps of interest.....

I attended the Outward Bound at Aberdovey, North Wales, for a month in November 1949.

Great stuff which I enjoyed and still have the documentation somewhere in the old papers.............. Go for it.

1199247 2011-05-04 05:02:00 Don't dismiss Spirit of Adventure if you haven't made up your mind to go to OB yet. Both are highly commendable, but Spirit seems to develop more teamwork and leadership skills. There is slightly more accent too, on interpersonal relationships, necessary to survive a couple of weeks in a confined space. I'd choose Spirit, but then again I spent a couple of years on one of its committees. WalOne (4202)
1199248 2011-05-04 07:07:00 Looks like I will be going to Outward Bound in the not too distant future. Should quite good from what I have read. QW. (15883)
1199249 2011-05-04 09:46:00 2 days on a ship fixing computers was enough for me. I never want to go on a cruise ship again. I have considered going on Outward Bound myself, but never got round to it. Everyone seems to have nothing but praise for it. Greven (91)
1199250 2011-05-04 09:59:00 Excellent character building adventure training for young adults, in the absence of National Service.
Outward Bound gives young people the opportunity for pushing themselves in a relatively safe controlled environment to build self confidence and learn team work.

Too many techni-coloured yawns, Greven?

On Spirit, a double spiral was the sign of an first timer, the treble spiral that of a seasoned old salt :horrified

Or was it the other way round?
