1198597 2011-05-01 02:13:00 Prefect. Is your avitar your car?

My first car was a '38. Wobbly head-lights above the mud-guards. Soft metal pin that connected the drive shaft to the crown-wheel and pinion, it was regularly breaking.

Very small looking car but inside it was like a Tardis. A great car back in the day!!

1198598 2011-05-01 03:07:00 I had a Ford Prefect way back in the late 60s till 1971. It was something like a 1958 model. I remember before I got rid of it that because of rust you could see the road below your feet. I had the same problem with my 1987 Ford Econovan. I have gone off Fords now.

See here (www.google.co.nz).

1198599 2011-05-01 03:58:00 No its not I had a 51 E93A Prefect for 30 years, sadly the Auckland climate got its door pillars. Have driven it to Bluff and Cape Maria van Diemien
I donated it to the Ford ten club in Swanson along with a few tons of spares. Its rego was on hold and as the vin number is on a brass plate screwed to a plywood lid for the toolbox they can do something with it.
The only reason that pin would break is if there was wear on the splines
