Our Company Sgt Major came into our smoko room and told us that the blood bank would be in Camp and they needed blood donors. Nobody was really interested till somebody mentioned the pretty nurses that would be there. That was all the incentive us young fellows needed to line up and give blood. | Bobh (5192) | ||
| 1199361 | 2011-05-07 13:17:00 | Find out what your blood type is. It is always useful to know. Some of us are what they call universal donors- RHO neg- and can give our blood to anyone. Curiously both wife and I have the same blood type! Truly universal donor would be O- As someone mentioned in this thread, poking the needle in does not hurt as much as withdrawing it out. This is speaking from my three-monthly blood test experience. :) As a side note, I volunteered in the IT department at the NZBlood headquarter for about three months. During that time, I also participated in several instances of recruitment drive. |
