1226436 2011-08-27 21:47:00 I thought it was loose cables the first time.
Booted up and I had a black screen. Not black as in it's off, black as in nothing showing but LED on monitor was indicating on and OK.

Messed about a bit in the wrong direction until replugging it's power back in fixed it.

Now I notice it does it every so often, if I switch power off then back on it's happy.

It's not in sleep or anything, it won't do anything at all with buttons on monitor, it's a bit weird.

It's also a bit worrying - monitor on the way out perhaps?

1226437 2011-08-28 00:26:00 I have an AOC monitor that does that sometimes when I reboot, have to power cycle it to make it work. I figured it was some quirk to do with how the HDMI interface works.

Not helpful I know :)

1226438 2011-08-28 03:52:00 I had the same issue on my AOS a few years ago... It died a few weeks later. Cato (6936)
1226439 2011-08-28 04:04:00 It's associated with Energy Saving is it ?? ... and I'm not referring to sleep / standby, etc. Can't remember where to find the settings though ... SP8's (9836)
1226440 2011-08-28 04:04:00 Back light problems? If you look very closely (or shine a torch) at the screen, can you see the desktop/login window? Jen (38)
1226441 2011-08-28 04:16:00 Sorry .... that last post should have read ... "it's NOT associated with Energy Star power saving is it ?" SP8's (9836)
1226442 2011-08-28 04:27:00 Doesn't seem to be backlighting - can't see anything.

I turn the PC off at night, and the monitor (with it's own on/off button on front). Sometimes I turn it on and it's fine, sometimes not.

1226443 2011-08-29 03:41:00 If you can't see any image when shining a torch at the screen it suggests that the video circuitry is crook. If you can see an image, the backlight is crook. linw (53)
1226444 2011-08-29 05:14:00 OK, I'll wait for it to die. Thanks. pctek (84)
