| 1199696 | 2011-05-12 15:04:00 | Penetration testing is a better name for it These types of products are a good thing for the public If it wasn't for the people that find exploits and make the information public god help us all At least the developers can then patch their products Its the exploits that are not exposed that can do the most damage in a way At least our government and our banks know about it its better to know what type of methods are currently out there so they can have the knowledge to defend against them. Look at the kiwi Barnaby jack that found a way to make ATM's spit out money like in terminator 2, and record sensitive data from users cards. He gave the ATM vendors time before he went public with it so they had enough time to patch the ATM's Yes backtrack can be used for hacking but it can also be used by the IT industry to test our banks governments etc....:devil |
