| 1200044 | 2011-05-07 04:28:00 | How I bought an iPad, then 3 weeks later, the iPad 2 came out. How there are those web ads that proclaim that "Google pays me $xxx a month". Who's gonna click on them? 13 year old nerds who boast how much they know about C++ but fail epically when asked about how much maths they know When you spend 3 weeks writing an extension or plugin for an app, only to have a new version of that app come out with the plugin built in which works much better than your version Those bearded, barefooted Linux enthusiasts who try to persuade you that a bare, un user friendly version of Linux that supports 4096 CPU cores and 512GB of RAM is worth your 700MB download of the week than a nice, simple version of something else that supports only 16 CPU cores and 32GB of ram. How Americans complain that waiting for 1 minute for a 10GB file to download is "absurd" when over here we can't download any such files at all! The smaller the keyboard, the more likely you are to hit the wrong key. Those "Twitter celebrities" who only tweet that you follow another "celebrity", to "retweet my last two tweets to get an instant follow", or to advertise another "celebrity". When you leave your computer alone for 10 minutes and come back to 500 new tweets. How only the most desperate and sketchy people follow you. Those phony apps on Facebook that can apparently figure out how many people have viewed your profile page. Obviously 33 of my friends profiles have been viewed 433 times. Coincedence, all right. How spammers still don't understand that threads consisting of bold type, bad english and randomly placed links will be deleted on sight. How a monitor can have a contrast ratio of "20,000,000 : 1". How advertisers still haven't gotten the message that Windows XP is not the best OS to run on an e-billboard. The three types of comments: "That's been 'shopped. You can tell from the pixels", a long winded statement about the origins of the item, or something really stupid like "LOL". How people go to a video like Friday on YouTube just to: a) complain about it and say he/she can't sing, b)spam or c) to troll. How I try to keep up with the internet and end up with around 500 new items a day. People on facebook who overuse the ♥ symbol. How I don't live in America and fail to understand about half the jokes on the internet. How operating systems are not getting any smaller. I bet that windows 9 will probably come out on a bluray disc. How shock sites are just porn sites for people with weird fetishes. How you are required to download software that comes with the new thing you just bought, which is usually around 200MB and contains mainly junk that you will never use. Obscure tweets that don't relate to anything or anyone at all. Licence agreements and ReadMe.txt - who actually reads them? Extremely useful shortcuts like Alt-PrintScreen that you forget immediately and spend the rest of your days cropping the window from a screenshot. When you end up with 200 bookmarks you never use. When you have exactly 705 MB of files and you have to use a DVD instead of a CD. How when you read a Wikipedia article you read the first sentence before skimming the whole thing. Deck.ly. Honestly, I think people have forgotten what the "micro" in microblogging means. There is always a troll on every forum that has not even been banned once. Long, boring posts like this one. OK, I'll stop. |

| 1200049 | 2011-05-07 05:29:00 | How I bought an iPad, then 3 weeks later, the iPad 2 came out. Research the market before you invest in anything. How Americans complain that waiting for 1 minute for a 10GB file to download is "absurd" when over here we can't download any such files at all! Just cause it sucks for us doesn't mean they should put up with crap. The smaller the keyboard, the more likely you are to hit the wrong key. Don't buy a small keyboard? :) Those "Twitter celebrities" who only tweet that you follow another "celebrity", to "retweet my last two tweets to get an instant follow", or to advertise another "celebrity". When you leave your computer alone for 10 minutes and come back to 500 new tweets. How only the most desperate and sketchy people follow you. Yep, that's the proper response for anything twitter related. Those phony apps on Facebook that can apparently figure out how many people have viewed your profile page. Obviously 33 of my friends profiles have been viewed 433 times. Coincedence, all right. If it's too good to be true it probably is. Facebook terms is guarantee anonymity to stalkers. How spammers still don't understand that threads consisting of bold type, bad english and randomly placed links will be deleted on sight. How I try to keep up with the internet and end up with around 500 new items a day. ADHD How I don't live in America and fail to understand about half the jokes on the internet. Really? It's not that hard... :) How operating systems are not getting any smaller. I bet that windows 9 will probably come out on a bluray disc. Why not? Stop living in the past man! Licence agreements and ReadMe.txt - who actually reads them? People who compile from source. When you end up with 200 bookmarks you never use. ADHD much? When you have exactly 705 MB of files and you have to use a DVD instead of a CD. It's called overburn. How when you read a Wikipedia article you read the first sentence before skimming the whole thing. ADHD With a grain of salt :p |
