| 1229676 | 2011-09-08 07:12:00 | Setting up an old PC as a media centre for home theatre. Using up spare parts. Adding a Genius Sound Maker 5.1 card to improve the sound. Also have a Asus SPDIF out module. I asume that will have to connect to the auxillary on the sound card but the pin outs are different. The SPDIF has power, blank, signal, ground while the sound card has left, ground, ground, right. |

| 1229685 | 2011-10-14 15:04:00 | if your motherboard has built in sound check to see if it has an spdif header for your module to connect to. if not check on the sound card for an spdif header if that does not have one then you will need to buy a sound card that has. you can pick up a cheap sound card that has spdif capabilities. I bought a TRUST sound card from maplins for about £15 a while ago which had it's own spdif module. Ebuyer is probably the best place to find a cheap sound card that will do the job. | jayscsi (16538) | ||
