1201901 2011-05-14 03:41:00 So if MS has ditched supporting Office 2003, what am I suppose to use? Go and buy Office 2010? QW. (15883)
1201902 2011-05-14 03:42:00 Bit of a shame you can't save a document as a pdf with Libre though as you can with MSOffice. There also does not appear to be a replacement app for MS Publisher either for some reason.

I just downloaded Libre for a look and I will check further into it but at the moment I see no reason to change from my current version of MSOffice.

LibreOffice has Export to PDF.
MS Publisher only comes with the Professional version.
While it is not part of LO Scribus is a reasonably good program for publishing.

1201904 2011-05-14 03:57:00 But there again I do have the Pro version of Office.

So, for the moment I see no valid reason to change.

1201905 2011-05-14 04:03:00 LibreOffice has just released a version for portable apps which I gather works within the cloud.

Portable apps doesn't mean cloud software - it means software that's intended to be run from a removable disk (USB flash drives etc), without installing on the PC you're running it on, and without leaving any trace behind afterwards.

I didn't do a thorough research but on one site it mentioned that it would run on the cloud but didn't say a lot more.

The current codebase isn't really portable to a cloud environment; any cloud-based solution would need to be an almost complete rewrite (unless you're just talking about an RDP cluster or something).

1201910 2011-05-14 12:24:00 Office has had to be allowed to lapse as (in Doggy years) Ralph is now 97 years old and so errors go unchecked. R2x1 (4628)
