1202087 2011-05-15 03:20:00 We can get along without the prisons. Find a suitable off shore island and transport all prisoners there. We also drop off seeds for potatoes etc and get them to grow their veges.

We come back in 20 years and pick up survivors if any.

Here's a nice place for example.

1202088 2011-05-15 05:32:00 So your opposed to nurses, doctors, hospitals, aged care, fire, ambulance, education, universities, trade training, railways, national superannuation, prisons ....all of which require government input.
Get real.

nurses doctors hospitals easy private medical insurance or charity from the church etc. Aged care private superannuation or peg out early, universities users pay no tax payer never pay back loans, trade training work as apprentice or work for nothing to learn or pay to learn. railways make money or rip the tracks up for scrap. national super see aged care , prisons we can make some massive cuts there with bread and water diet in Singapore the prisons run at a profit as they have workshops and laundries in them. Other countries can house prisoners for very little like Iran we just need to adopt there code of practices.

Sounds awfully similar to a story I once read about a guy called Maui who had a fairly substantial fishing rig, and another fella called Kupe who trailed after him in some canoes stuffed with kumara to see what scratchings he could snaffle.

Reproduction rates being what they are when a bunch of people are left to their own devices with no TV, not much to do, and no booze to soften their ardour, you might find a few more kumara-powered canoes steaming back your way after a few decades and if the influx didn't wipe out W & I it would sure reinforce the minority party vote.

Best you keep 'em where you can see 'em.

Cheers

Ah. I see. I love a good conspiracy theory.

So what's the plan then?

it definitely doesn't include you and i

bit of research and you might grab a glimpse of the big picture.

If you WANT to see it, that is.

1202095 2011-05-18 21:40:00 A new book called the Brash code based in Wellington. Hone Harawira is called in to solve the mystery of exploding Christmas puddings in Greater Wellington during the Easter break, he has just 39 1/4 hours to solve all the ancient pre European clues or Brash will be unleashed.

I can't tell you anymore it would ruin the books ending

If you WANT to see it, that is.

If you WANT to see something then chances are you will.

Take ghosts and UFOs as a prime example.

But, being a simpleton, I have no idea what you WANT to see, so what is the big picture?

(and if you use 3000 words to describe greed then I'm going to send a ghost over to your place in a UFO to put a hex on you)
