My JVC stereo is still going strong too. Surround sound is shite for music. The only thing more ignorant then claiming logitech are quality for music is to then drop in the reference to 5.1:( That aside, If interested I will demonstrate to my sons the difference between shitcan audio and the brilliance that is available for just a little more investment. Though I'd say they will pick up on it themselves. For what its worth the Sony units in my pic sound shitcan in comparison to those in my home theater. Are you right? Not yet.	Metla (12)
1201828	2011-05-16 12:43:00	Surround sound is good for music IF you put in the time to get the mix right. You want the sound stage based at the front with the bass coming from the back, same way you set up a SQL system in a car.	DeSade (984)

You do realise that car and home audio has very different standards of quality right? Bass through a dedicated sub (at least when it comes to home audio) if at all done properly is non-directional and shouldn't be 'coming' from anywhere. Also if you're taking 2 channels of audio and up-mixing it to surround sound you distort the natural sound stage of the music. The ONLY addition to a stereo system that can work well is that of a dedicated sub usually with a pair of bookshelves and even then this has to be properly positioned and tweaked to avoid an audible mess. 1201832	2011-05-17 06:21:00	Yeah I kinda lost you there Melta. I never said Logitech were quality, but rather they were fine for music and especially (imo) fine for a 7 year old. Though I do disagree with the surround system for music being crap. I have one set up in a room with good quality gear (you do need a good amp) and it sounds amazing. Yes I do, I have set up both and find the music workable and enjoyable. And I believe I also said IF you take the time to get the mix right. I messed around with mine for quite a few hours before I was happy with it. By saying coming from the back I may not have been clear. Basically sitting in my the bass feels like its flowing over me from the back. The rest of the song is coming out of the front speakers and the two just crash in the middle, personally I think its the only way to listen to the heavy stuff.	DeSade (984)
1201834	2011-05-19 02:50:00	When the source Music Vid DVD recommends to use the stereo track for better quality, what does that say ?? rooms are all different sizes and shapes & reflectivity (a new word ??) surround or multispeaker pseudo surround can turn into mush in many rooms. may sound fine in others. Lets all go to Dolby Pro Logic :banana :banana :banana garrh, Im sure many love that as well. some still claim their 20 year old tape collection still sounds great.	1101 (13337)
