Fix it did not fixit I have tried everything I think a new drive is needed but I will wait to see if I get any more replies |

So do you have one or two optical drives? If two just disconnect the non working one. If one get a replacement from somewhere like Ascent or Computerlounge their really cheap and 5 mins to replace |

It is a HP DVD Writer 300n , will play DVD's but will not read data and audio cd's
If it can read anything it seems less likely to be a faulty drive, but that doesn't rule it out. |
