1201885 2011-05-13 07:46:00 This is one of the problem with cloud computing, which online activation is a form of. What happens when the company goes out of business and their activation servers are shut down. This has happened to me with a piece of software I purchased, after the developers went out of business I was unable to activate and the software became useless. robbyp (2751)

LO was pretty much a rebranding of OO because of what Oracle did to OpenSolaris... Most (if not all) developers jumped ship to LO, as have the distros.

It is a fork of OpenOffice which occurred because Oracle got their dirty little mitts on OpenOffice which rattled the cage of a few. OpenOffice still exists but LibreOffice is going ahead in leaps and bounds in comparison.

It is stretching things making any comparison between the two.

1201890 2011-05-13 11:38:00 Wasn't Oracle talking about giving OpenOffice back to the community? It would be great to keep the OpenOffice name Greven (91)
