1230515 2011-09-12 08:30:00 hi,
Still unable to find my 32bit dvd so i just downloaded the iso from a sight previously mentioned. I don't have a blank dvd right now and would like to get windows 7 installed quick. Is it possible to do an upgrade install out of an iso or do i have to burn a disk (currently running xp).

1230516 2011-09-12 08:34:00 You will need to burn a disk I suspect as what will happen when the PC restarts? Snorkbox (15764)
1230517 2011-09-12 08:35:00 You have to burn it to DVD. I suppose you could mount it as a virtual CD (if you have a program), then install it on another partition (If you want a dual boot) Speedy Gonzales (78)

got a USB Drive of at least 4 GB -- install it from there after making the Drive bootable. Use the Windows 7 USB tool (download.cnet.com)

1230520 2011-09-12 10:09:00 Ok used the USB tool. Got this error when attempting to update:
Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.
Error code: 0x80070005

Any ideas?

yup, as Speedy said, just mount the iso as a vitual CD/DVD and run the setup. (not sure if this will work if the upgrade requires a restart during the install than you will need to burn a DVD.)
