1230106 2011-09-10 05:29:00 Last week my computer shutdown then refused to boot. Solved by unplugging HDD starting up, shuting down restarting with HDD plugged in. Booted into safe mode and scanned for malware. Removed smad.exe. My computer recently did the same thing so it might not have been the problem. Is there a log or anything that I can look at to try and work out the problem? icow (15313)
1230107 2011-09-10 05:33:00 Look in event viewer. If you can get into windows Speedy Gonzales (78)

1230109 2011-09-10 05:47:00 Is starforce installed (this for copy protection for games I think). I think prodrv06, prohlp02, prosync1 belong to starforce. sfhlp01 may also belong to starforce. Some sites say this is similar to a rootkit Speedy Gonzales (78)
1230110 2011-09-10 06:38:00 Starforce was installed at one point, but the game didnt work so i uninstalled the game and presumably starforce as well. However I read online that some people have to manually remove entries after unistalling, would you know how i should go about this? icow (15313)
1230111 2011-09-10 06:43:00 Get tdsskiller and see if it finds the files / services for starforce. I dont think its that easy removing starforce (just uninstalling the game). Or get the file from here (www.onlinesecurity-on.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1230112 2011-09-10 06:53:00 Computer just turned off randomly when I tried to run the exe. On restart the exe ran fine and found no drivers. icow (15313)
1230113 2011-09-10 06:56:00 Just shut down again, running in safe mode now. icow (15313)
1230114 2011-09-10 06:57:00 Sounds like its overheating or something then.. If it shuts down completely. Open the case and see if its full of dust or something. If its a desktop. If its crashing / rebooting. Something like a driver / file maybe causing it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1230115 2011-09-10 06:58:00 Just looked in event viewer again. A sh*t load of errors at the top of the list. Is there an easy way that I can get them onto pf1? icow (15313)
