My old computer, which used to have 1 gig of ram (ddr) now only has half a gig, due to one stick failing. Now xp pro wont start. I've tried safe mode, but whatever option i pick, it goes to the xp logo and restarts. Done a memory test, passed it. |

Hit F8 before the XP boot screen and choose 'disable automatic restart on system failure'. See what the error is.
Do you have an XP CD? |

Check that the BIOS isnt trying to run the memory in dual channel mode. It should probably automatically disable when one stick is removed but it might have screwed up or something. |

What motherboard is in this?? Sounds like an AMD. If it is did you install SP3 on it recently? Sounds like its crashing / rebooting when it gets to the XP logo |

The RAM errors could have damaged Windows, try the Disable restart and then perhaps a repair install on it. |
