1203375 2011-05-19 21:53:00 Hone Key’s separatist policies appear to be alive and well. :groan:

From the Budget:

The Maori Party said while there were cuts in other Government initiatives, it was proud it had been able to secure $213.55 million for Maori initiatives.
"We've been able to achieve these gains despite the worst financial recession this country has seen in decades, the rigorous tightening up of the Government purse and a natural disaster that has put unprecedented pressure on our country's economy," Maori Party co-leaders Tariana Turia and Dr Pita Sharples said.

1203376 2011-05-19 22:19:00 How much taxpayer's money is to be thrown at maori before they have enough or will the government think they need to appease moari forever and a day?

It does not seem to make any difference so far as poor schoool results, more unemployed, over represented in gaol, etc. is concerned.

Unfortunately, all these millions are not benefiting the moaris who need it the most. They are just as bad off as ever, so where are all these millions going?

To the greedy scumbags that the world would be a lot better off without.

Hang them all, dirty swine. :groan:

1203380 2011-05-19 23:54:00 I laugh at the government when they say we are going to put so many millions into this and that to bolster the economy to create thousands of jobs. Doesn't matter whoever is in power this doesn't seem to happen in fact it gets slightly worse.

Agreed. Any country that cuts spending is on slippery slope. No way is cutting spending going to generate 170K jobs. I believe the ozzys say it best "Na mate ya dreamin"

I think trying to stop the deficit growing is a good idea and must be done but how about paying it off???

?? you say dont cut spending & stop the deficit growing

any jobs created from govt spending, are pseudo, short term job creation .
Not real growth . Just pain for someone else in the future to try & pay back the $$ .

A bankrupt country cant do much of anything to help the poor, sick or unemployed .
