| 1202542 | 2011-05-17 23:17:00 | Sooooo how are they going to get the astronauts to the ISS and home again from now on?? are they going to abandon it? I understand that they may be teaming up with the Russians and going with them. They are not abandoning the ISS just yet. |

| 1202543 | 2011-05-18 00:00:00 | Yes they are going to use the Russians Soyuz Space Craft to get to the ISS after the last Shuttle flight, which they have done in the past while they were investigating the 2 Space Shuttle accidents. :) |

| 1202546 | 2011-05-18 08:51:00 | It has been known for a long time that the current Space Shuttles have a finite life span. Therefore I am very surprised that the Americans haven't already got a replacement. Perhaps they have but want the last Shuttle flight out of the way before announcing it. I cannot see them "Liking" having to rely on the Russians. I have read that the American Govt has contracts out for a replacement & from what I have seen it will still be reliant on rockets to get them up there. One of the proposals was to land capsules in the ocean by parachute. Hang on a minute, that sounds familiar: & backward looking! I cannot give you links about this. Perhaps Our Joe over there knows something? PJ |
