1203698 2011-05-21 00:06:00 well unless we get the nasty variety I'm not spraying. These can be let loose back outside - over the neighbours jungle, with the rats. pctek (84)

1203701 2011-05-21 02:00:00 Occasionally i get these green things that fly and look like a stealth bomber. they seem to have no coordination and crash into everything. not sure what they are called. Quite hard to squish... for a bug

1203704 2011-05-21 03:07:00 Recall a few years ago, having a few beers with my uncle . He snatched a fat looking bug that landed on our table outside - Then ate it without shame, putting us all off . He was a little boozed up, but said "This is for the boys" . What boys do you mean I said?

"Me and mates in Vietnam" . It's what we survived on in the jungle sometimes in Vietnam war, - insects and monkeys . My other uncle told me the same that's what a few NZ's did back then .

1203707 2011-05-21 09:48:00 Found one of these walking about in the kitchen last night:

www.landcareresearch.co.nz

After close study established it was this particular sort. Entomolgist lady said it won't become a pest and establish indoors, well, no it was squashed pretty quickly when first spotted.
They can do a bit of damage to electronics if you aren't careful.
They love fly spray.
Kenj I noticed how bad they were up there when I did some work there a few years ago. They became noticeable in Masterton after they closed Borthwicks.
