| 1202741 | 2011-05-18 03:10:00 | when the give way rules do change - im parking up both the celica and the supra and walking everywhere for 2 weeks afterwards so all the idiots and people that choose not to follow the new rules crash out and i dont risk getting my cars ended by some twat who cant remember if he follows the old rules or the new ones so makes up his own rules and screws everything up completley once the mayhem has subsided i will gradually start driving again ;) |

It is what we all have to do at present anyway. because you cannot expect consistent behaviour at intersections under the current rules. There are too many 'other vehicle' factors to be taken into account as has already been pointed out by another contributor to this thread. Only the brave, insane or ignorant dare assume that they have any right of way at present. Oh, and two weeks off the road won't be anything like enough, apparently it is getting on for 35 years since the current system was introduced and many drivers still don't understand it, even those who have grown up with it. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 1202746 | 2011-05-18 05:52:00 | if i had my '83 corona id be keen to go tussle with idiots in its rusty Beige (jewish racing gold) colours and its pedestrian killer bumpers and a total worth of $150 and a packet of Winfield 20's - its great - some up himself prat in a upperclass audi decides to run a red and then flees in a panic when i have right of way and am not stopping for him because he thinks he can get away with stuff since he went and ticked himself up to upperclass motoring ;) but since that car is gone i dont want to do that in my other cars D: so ill keep them off the road and let the absent minded idiots have their fun crashing into each other and arguing over who had right of way - neither of them actualy sure who was in the right but arguing anyway :P |

They were quit legal last I checked, about a 8 months ago, I wanted ARB bull bars - the price was beyond me (nearly 2k). I believe the actual issue is having non-airbag-compatible bull bars on cars with airbags, rather than anything to do with pedestrian safety. It also appears there are plenty of dealers are selling them: www.petermunro.co.nz |
