2011-09-18 22:02:00 | My laptop has two drives: Acer (C) and Acerdata (D). The C drive contains all the usual stuff (Windows XP, programmes) etc. The capacity of the C drive which is almost full is 44.6GB. The D drive has a capacity of 45.3GB and has 43.5GB free space. Can I use this drive to download say a windows installation of Ubuntu using Wubi or for that matter any other programmes that I may choose? Thanks for your help:thanks

2011-09-19 03:15:00 | Can you use it?? The question is, why are you not using it? The drive is split more or less 50/50. Move stuff, Windows will have a hissy soon if you don't.

There are some benefits to having a drive split like that but for the average user it just complicates things. if you wanted to install linux or something than go for it, you don't need 40GB for that though. download.cnet.com |

2011-09-19 04:29:00 | Thanks pctek and Watterus. Watterus.....I have downloaded your link and now have EaseUS Partition Manager on board. I presume that the function to be chosen is to choose to merge the C and D volumes. Is that correct? By doing this will any critical data be lost. I assume a system restore would be in order before executing? Any other things I should be aware of?? Thanks for your help :) | smurf (6545) | |
2011-09-19 04:35:00 | I've never used the 'merge' function myself, should work though. :p If you want to merge the partitions I would move any data on the D: that you want onto the C:, the in easeus delete the d:, hit apply, then click on the c:, click resize/move, and drag it out to the full size of the drive, then click apply.
