2011-09-16 00:40:00 | I'm trying to download a program which says "It's a free download" however when I try and save it, it only gives me about 2%. Adobe Reader X and just about any so called free download. You have to be connected to the Internet otherwise you can't get it and this is on most so called free download because I try and download so I can take it to another computer which is a stand-alone. It seems like you can't do anything without being connected to the Web including playing games and so forth. It looks like our society doesn't want you to do anything on your computer without big brother knowing about it. Maybe someone can tell why this is? | lostsoul62 (16011) | |
2011-09-16 00:42:00 | Skype does the same thing, the file off the site is small you have to stay online to get the rest of it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-09-16 02:07:00 | Adobe ReaderX..... garrrgh. dont do it..... I would just stick with Reader9 , or even a alternative reader. You can usually find the full download (rather than those 2M downloaders/online installers), but its often well hidden....for some unkown reason. get.adobe.com its in that link

2011-09-16 03:03:00 | I would avoid getting anything off Cnet if it starts with Cnet.xxx They've changed all the files on their site, with their own custom made installers. Which install crap / bloatware. I would use something like Foxit (if it doesnt install the Ask toolbar). Or SumatraPDF | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2011-09-16 07:09:00 | Forget Adobe, the download is HUGE. Get an alternative, Foxit is popular. | PPp (9511) | |

2011-09-16 12:54:00 | 1 Society doesn't care one way or the other about you, your computer , what you are doing on it, and big brothers interest in you. 2 What makes you so sure he is interested in you? 3 Lots of downloads are free on the internet. I guess your local shops can't compete with that. 4 Check how big the file is, you are downloading, before you start. ( I remember downloading a Linux distro from Friday night to Sunday afternoon on dailup many years ago, but I knew what to expect) 5 There are a huge number of games that don't need the internet, most of them in fact.

LL Try reading the Post: I need to download the adobe reader program that has an exe extention so I can go and put it on the computer which isn't on the Internet. I did manage to download from the site posted here but got a DMG extention which I couldnt install and then if you save the download you a flash drive it gives you 721 K on another site which has a exe extention which isn't going to help me. Anyone knows where I can get a complete download with an exe extention? |
