1231094 2011-09-14 22:46:00 Greetings

Exactly that i need a javascript slideshow that uses fade effect for transitions, that works in IE9,

all the ones i have used in the past work fine in IE6 and all other browsers, but the effect doesn't work in IE9.

Either i am missing something or i am the only person on the planet with this issue.

1231095 2011-09-15 00:42:00 Hey. Do you have a demo of what setup you currently have? I'll take a look for you. :) dpDesignz (15919)
1231096 2011-09-15 01:57:00 No real demo at the mo, i am just trying to find a slideshow that works with IE nicely, basically i am just going through the various js slideshows available at the moment, and seeing if the transition effects work correctly in IE9.

Part of the problem is, is that IE9 has always been a bit flakey on my machine (Vista), and although i have uninstalled and re-installed it, it just doesn't always work smoothly, which may be part of the problem.

I will put up a demo soonish

1231097 2011-09-15 04:56:00 Ok heres a demo page using a slideshow

grumpykiwi.com

But it could be any slideshow, all i want is the fade transition to work in IE

1231098 2011-09-15 05:26:00 Ok can someone look at the page in IE and see if the fade is working

I just checked in IE8 on wifeys laptop and the fade seems to be working, but it still doesn't work on my IE9, just need to see if its my blasted computer

1231099 2011-09-15 06:45:00 Bump, com on there must be some IE 6 7 8 and 9 users out there, who can tell me if its working for them or not

i just need to know if it fades between slides

1231100 2011-09-15 07:18:00 Bumping isn't going to help you much mate. I've only just got the notification. It works fine in my cross browsers including IE8 and 9. It may have to do with your browser rendering on your computer dpDesignz (15919)
1231101 2011-09-15 07:27:00 The bump wasn't aimed at anyone specific, just there had been loads of views and no response,
as in loads of people have viewed the link, but no-one had posted back, And three different virtual images I have that normally work flawlessly for browser testing all crashed before getting anywhere near the net, just getting a tad frustrated with things not working.

So just to confirm, they are actually fading transitions, in IE8 and IE9.

any suggestion on what i should be looking at in my IE to fix this, as all other browsers on this machine show the fading transitions fine

1231102 2011-09-15 07:37:00 :). I was just saying Bumping doesn't really work. What script are you using for your fading? Does the demo on the dynamic site show up for you? I'm guessing this is where you got it from? www.dynamicdrive.com dpDesignz (15919)
1231103 2011-09-15 07:45:00 The demo on Dynamic Drive works perfectly in all browsers except IE for me,

In IE the fade effect just doesn't work, the slide show still works, it just switches between the slides (without the transition effect)

And its not just the dynamic drive one, pretty much every javascript slideshow that uses fade effect (and believe me I have looked at more slideshows than are healthy), the fade effect doesn't work in IE, The slideshow itself always works fine just the fading is nonexistent, and yes they all worked perfectly in other browsers
