1204034 2011-05-23 07:32:00 A "Wellywood" sign is just plain tacky.

I wonder if the Hollywood sign is copyrighted? A "Wellywood" sign might infringe.... (we can but hope!)

I prefer the idea of having a sculpture of a giant weta on the hillside - at least that would qualify as art. And pays lip service to the studios of the same name in the local area. Plus might intrigue visitors to explore the country a bit (or scare the living **** out them!! :D)

I think it may scare the crap out of visitors -- imagine This from a news article (www.stuff.co.nz) just as its getting dark and arriving at the airport

Now This here (www.3news.co.nz) would work :)

1204036 2011-05-23 08:26:00 If we must have this sign, thankfully Wellington as the seat of Government is the most appropriate spot in the hemisphere, if not the universe, for it. R2x1 (4628)
1204037 2011-05-23 09:10:00 When people fly into Wellington and see a 'Wellywood' sign they would be confused. There is nothing wrong with having a sign that tells them where they are. I suggest that a sign with 'Wellington' on it would be suitable.

Wellywood :groan::yuck: is an idiotic idea.:angry

1204038 2011-05-23 09:12:00 They've ripped off our Mosgiel sign, in which some people jokingly call mosgiel Mollywood.

bit.ly :D

And BTW, why are you a NvidiaDood if you're still using an ATI graphics card? (see sig)

Probably more appropriate for Tokoroa as we are a timber town. :)
