| 1231679 | 2011-09-18 05:04:00 | I have tried loading windows 98 using a boot disc and cd. The boot disc activates, I get a question asking whether I want to boot using the cd or not (choice of 3 scenarios). I choose use the cd and it then shows it has loaded a cd driver. Next it tells me "no device found" and goes to a dos prompt. I am starting to suspect a faulty cd player. If the XP CD could boot from it but failed to load the drivers, then I doubt the drive is faulty. At what point did XP tell you there was no CD drivers? Can you write the exact error down? Also, what is the model number of the laptop? - so we can find out what hardware it has. |
