| 1231607 | 2011-09-16 20:23:00 | Hi there, could someone help me with me internet connection settings as I am not confident enough to Google and fiddle around with it myself. It appears my connection drops sometimes and it takes around 5 min to come back on. This happens randomly. It appeared that Farmside my ISP has said they have monitored the connection and it only dropped the connection once in 2 days. The guy at Farmside said that there might be a problem with the computer settings. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. The modem is an IPSTAR. I lost the connection again this morning and I unplugged the network cable at the back, waited for 10sec, plugged it back in and the connection was back on again.. What could be the problem??? |

Next would be the LNB (the pickup in the centre of your dish), and wiring etc from there to your modem, try swapping your modem for another (all this should be done by your provider, instead of sitting on their arses telling you its your fault). Also could be rain fade affecting your signal (not much you can do about that). |

Don't believe them, in my experience it was their number 1 favourite thing to tell everyone. It' not known for being brilliant broadband, but alas many have no choice. I'm with feersumendjinn, go hassle them, bump it up to the supervisor if necessary. |

They can log in remotely and do that as well as testing the satellite connections. |

| 1231614 | 2011-09-18 21:05:00 | Don't Panic Its just the annual SOLAR outage due at this time of the year for a few minutes every day any satellite service will lose signal. You will lose signal for up to 10 minutes You don't need to do anything other than wait it out. |
